Imam Bio

Abdullah Ezat Bayomi is the Imam, Director of Religious Affairs, and Resident Scholar at the Islamic Center of Baton Rouge (ICBR), a position he has held since February 2023 to date. Before serving the Baton Rouge community, he spent six years in New York and one and a half years in Texas holding the same position, building a long track record of religious leadership, community service and Islamic scholarship across the United States.

By the grace of Allah, he has been granted an Ijazah in the entire Qur’an in the narration of ʿĀṣim, through both Ḥafṣ and Shuʿbah. In addition to his memorization and recitation mastery, he is fluent in both Arabic and English, which allows him to effectively teach and engage diverse audiences.

As an author, he has written and published several books in both languages, covering topics of Islamic law, spirituality, and community development. His work reflects a commitment to authentic scholarship, balanced guidance, and serving the Muslim community with wisdom and compassion.
